Biography:
Shi Pratt is an Oslo based dancer, choreographer and teacher. She has worked with a number of international dance companies including Bat Sheva Dance Company, Andersson Dance, Vertigo Dance Company, The Instrument and Inbal Pinto & Avshalom Pollak Dance Company, to name a few, as well as with various independent choreographers around the world. She performs, creates and teaches her own work extensively nationally and internationally and enjoys collaborating with other artists from different fields.
Shi is a co-founder of the company Kaliko Kids.
She teaches her own movement and improvisation class - ToolBox as well as Gyrotonic and Gyrokinesis in many different formats for dancers, actors, athletes, yogi's and people who love to move.
Shi is also a certified Gaga teacher and that knowledge is incorporated into her classes.
She has received various grants and awards from both Norway and Israel and has had a number of artistic residencies in Norway and around the world. In 2008 Shi received an award for best performance in the piece "Shaker" by Inbal Pinto & Avshalom Pollk Dance Company from the Ministry of Culture and Education in Israel.
Shi creates dance for the stage and screen and has initiated two video dances and one video projection and mapping project on a 3 story building.
Shi worked with the choreographers Ohad Naharin, Sharon Eyal, Örjan Andersson, Inbal Pinto & Avshalom Pollak , Ingri Fiksdal, Maya M Carroll, Eldad Ben Sasson, Arkadi Zaides, Soukaina Edom, Neta Pulvermacher, Gabor Goda, Janne-Camilla Lyster, Siri Dybwik, Elle Sofe Henriksen, Inbal Shahar, Talia Beck, Idan Yoav, amongst others.
Shi has a Masters in Choreography degree from Oslo Academy of the Arts.
